The Comox Valley Farmers Market continues to operate every Saturday during COVID-19 with guidance from local, provincial, and federal authorities to ensure ongoing access to fresh, local, and nutritional food while maintaining the highest level of safety. Although they are ordinarily known as an event with live music, entertainment, picnic tables, crowds and 70+ vendors, they have made significant changes to make the market simply a grocery store. These changes include no live music or entertainment, no seating areas, no concession vendors, and no dogs. The number of vendors has also been capped at 30 to allow wider spacing, and vendors have made changes to their stalls to minimize customer contact with products. The entrances are controlled to limit the number of people in the area at any one time. In addition, you’ll find hand-washing stations, sanitizing protocol for both the vendors and market, and the ability to pre-order and pay with contactless methods.
