Marianne Enhörning is a West Coast Canadian artist. Born in Sweden, she split her work life for many years between architecture and being a kayak guide. She now pursues her true vocation, painting, in Comox.
Marianne creates evocative, dreamlike works in mixed media that are figurative, nature influenced, and abstractly architectural. Her art emerges from her deep sense of longing for a world that is inclusive, equal and just; a world that is simple and kind.
Her life-size figures celebrate the inner strength and personal power of women in the face of the many challenges they’ve faced culturally and historically. Her iconic women use love, wisdom, and the sisterhood to prevail against all odds.
