Curtis was born and raised in the Comox Valley, where he pursues a number of hobbies and seasonal interests, including photography. Way back in 2005, he got his first cell phone (a classic Telus flip phone) and began snapping pictures wherever he went. He eventually upgraded to a Blackberry, and as his interest in the craft deepened, he acquired a Canon Rebel digital camera.
Being a lover of the outdoors, he was initially drawn to landscape photography—until he got his first zoom lens. Then he quickly turned to nature and wildlife.
Curtis enjoys being in nature, observing it and making images that reflect his respect and admiration for our environment and wild neighbours. He’s proud to call the Comox Valley home; you can find him out on the local beaches and river trails, in nature reserves or off the beaten path.
