FEATURED PHOTOGRAPHER: FRANCOISE GERVAIS

Born and raised in Quebec, Françoise is a self-taught wildlife/landscape photographer. Her first career was as a land-use planner, creating natural reserves, but then the spirit of adventure took her to explore the deep sea and later to lead numerous expeditions in the polar regions. From diving under icebergs while filming polar bears and narwhals to assisting scientists in the field, her expertise and experience is unique.

She feels a responsibility to capture these fragile places and moments in time through photography, but not just by making beautiful images: through publications and lectures, she hopes to contribute to a radical change in our relationship with nature.

Recently she fell in love with the Comox Valley and decided to make it her permanent home, though she hopes never to stop exploring the world.

With her endless curiosity, she will always be ready for the next adventure!
